Just Like November
Monday, November 1st, 2004Just like November at work today too, blustery and raining most of the day with the weather dipping to just a few degrees above freezing in spots this morning. Worked on a dock piling we’re trying to spread apart a bit, until it started raining again and then it was indoors for the rest of the day taking apart a light fixture above the restaurant fireplace so someone could pick up some replacement bulbs from the mainland.
Everything is out of the old place, made a few trips up the stairs this afternoon for the final few items, the legs complained from yesterday. A lot of climbing up and down those things, thank goodness I took the biggest and heaviest thing (the TV) down first, as about the fourth trip down one of the stairs gave way. Just some lighter boxes in hand and was able to keep my balance, will take that as a sign that I was getting out there none too soon, and glad to go.
Still no word from the previous landlord though, sent her my notice, and then emailed about someone wanting the place and he’s been trying to contact her to no avail either. Poor guy, know he wanted to move in as soon as possible and told him to just go ahead and do it, only wants her money is what she told me.
