Stormy Weather

The weather went a little nuts on Thursday night, winds mid-island record at 137kph (85mph) and trees bringing down power lines and poles everywhere. We weren’t hit as bad as those to the south, Seattle is still trying to dig itself out from under all the fallen trees and tens of thousands without power still. Ours was out for about 48 hours, not too terribly long but those on the wind side of the island have a little longer to wait. In more populated areas they are hoping to have everything going by Monday night, but some like the Grouse Mountain Ski Resort that have wilderness between them and the sub-station are having to wait and the night skiers are feeling hard done by. Vancouver Islanders living more remotely are having it the worst of all with some people without power for a week already from the last storm that blew through, and some of those in the genteel city of Victoria are getting a little impatient.
