Rejection Emails

Here comes another Sunday already, and the end of the month draws near as well. Nothing hopeful last week in the job search going on, and got an email yesterday from the interview I went to last week saying someone else got the position which seems to be the story of my life lately. The ad from Municipal Hall for a Trails Summer Maintenance Crew cleaning up city trails, beaches and the like is finally in the Undercurrent newspaper this Friday and so my application for that is going in. Hopefully when they said if I didn’t get the last job at Muni I applied for, to be sure to apply for the next one that meant this one is on the bag. The deadline for it one is May 8, so only a couple weeks waiting and then another interview and another little wait, oh well.

It could be worse, while a week is spent in the U.S.A. mourning and Canadian TV fills up their news time with stories about the latest school campus shooting, the day after four times as many innocent people died in Iraq as a direct result of those same mourners not really giving a damn about what is done in their name halfway around the world. Elsewhere in Iraq, they are taking their cues from Israel and building open air prisons around people deemed dangerous, makes you wonder how soon it will be until the new conscripts for the Halliburton prisons will be filing in to take their cells.

Meanwhile in Canadian politics, more important things are left behind while the posturing for another election looms sometime this spring and innumerable hours, electricity and ink are wasted on whether or not the present neocon Prime Minister listens to his psychic advisor while he’s getting his fingernails cleaned for him. It can only be that politics and it’s machinations are the work of the insane, fuelled by the greed of the people’s own ambitions.
