The Year of Golf

The Year of Golf is going well; just a few months into it now and feeling comfortable enough to start refining how the old bod should move to create a repeatable shot, the principle need of golf. The scorecard regularly ended under 120 is when keeping track started, and the average last week was 111. Can feel the improvement too, regardless of the actual numbers and that’s a really nice feeling.
Getting lots of exercise at the same time, going around the course by myself takes a couple hours and when there are others to follow it’s three, more rest stops waiting. Add in a few hours of walking the dogs and that’s a good day on the feet. With the rest of life in there too just not much time being spent on the computer beyond surfing the net with a feed reader.

Version II Island-side

Purchasing the Version II van was not too terribly eventful. Went through a lot of advertisements on line and finally went out to New Westminster to look at a Grumman GMC panel truck. Didn’t get that good feeling from it mechanic wise, and it is a little smaller than it looks and the shelving is way too attached to the walls to easily removed and so it’s a pass.

The second one looked at worked. Rebuilt engine in the past few years, converted to run on pump gas or propane and lots of cargo area. The owner was willing to leave the signage on, and the big blue Record vise is still on the back bumper, it looks like what it is – a work truck. Uneventful trip back other than the propane tank was empty and ran on gasoline all the way. And I know for sure that the small gasoline tank will get me at least from Agassiz to Bowen Island! The propane tank is huge and is meant to be the main source of fuel, 184 litre fill up upon return.

Another BBC Day

Another BBC day around here, should have the little doggies to take care of this afternoon and maybe slip in an hour at the driving range too, see how it goes. The weather held until last night, can’t see any stars and quite warm this morning so it must be a little cloudy up there.

Craigslist is a daily stop in the van search, found something interesting at a good price but it is out in Cloverdale and with the dental surgery happening on Friday perhaps will get out to it on Thursday. Haven’t seen any of the money coming from the Drupal and server install yet, so those plans may change!
